Rachel Gutish claims victory at Sumter National – NEPG Round 1

The 2024 NEPG (AMA National Enduro Series) kicked off this weekend with an intense battle at Sumter National, featuring some of the world’s top off-road riders.

In the Women’s Elite category, Rachel Gutish (Sherco) secured a hard-fought victory, narrowly edging out Rachael Archer (Kawasaki) after a fierce duel through each section. Gutish ultimately crossed the line 26 seconds ahead of the defending champion, marking her first win of the season. Brandy Richards (KTM) completed the podium in third place. Despite not having her strongest day, the KTM rider used this race as crucial preparation for her main goal—the GNCC Championship.

Further down the rankings, Shelby Turner (GasGas) had a solid ride, finishing fourth, just 43 seconds behind Richards. Brooke Cosner (GasGas) showed great consistency, securing a Top 5 finish to start her season strong. In sixth place, Addison Harris (KTM) steadily gained momentum throughout the race, while Tayler Bonecutter (Beta) took seventh ahead of Courtney Gregory (Yamaha). Emma Hasbell (Beta) was on track for a strong result but was forced to retire before the final section, finishing ninth. Eden Netelkos (Yamaha) rounded out the Top 10, with Allie Roland (KTM) finishing just outside in eleventh.

Lacey Bell unrivaled in the Girls category

Lacey Bell dominated the day in the Girls category. The young Yamaha rider started the championship in the best possible way. She was ahead of Jhorjie Walker (Husqvarna) by almost 13 minutes. Daisy Wilkins (Husqvarna) completed the podium in the category.
